The T126 Pinkerton Tobacco State Capitols set is a (50) card set using the stock that many other manufacturers have used for an advertising vehicle. The E48 BBB Honey Kisses set uses the same stock as does a similar set from Granger & Company advertising Safe and Reliable Baking Powder. The T126 Pinkerton set is one of a very few sets that Pinkerton issued during the 20th century tobacco boom and all of their offerings are difficult to find. The set has the characteristic blue bordered front picturing the same artwork originally conceived for the Allen & Ginter N14 General Government Buildings series. The backs are printed in a navy blue ink and advertise for Pinkerton Tobacco of Zanesville, Ohio.
This lot is for a pair of T126 Pinkerton Tobacco general government buildings to include the subjects of Maine and North Carolina. The cards are in a pleasant EX condition and would be a great addition to someone working on a complete set or an advanced typecard collector.
