Topps sought to capitalize on the music group the Monkees by issuing a set of cards in 1966 and 1967. The cards were so popular that they issued (3) more series and also a set of "flip books". The Monkees were an American rock and pop band, formed in Los Angeles in 1966, whose lineup consisted of the American actor/musicians Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork alongside English actor/singer Davy Jones. The band was so popular a sitcom of the same name ran for two seasons and 58 episodes from 1966 to 1968 on NBC television.
This trio of 1966 Monkees (Sepia) cards have all been graded by PSA and includes the following subjects: #3 (PSA5 EX), #23 (PSA5 EX) and #39 (PSA4 VG-EX). Great trio of cards for the set builder.
