The E2 Lauer & Suter Navy Candy set is a 24 card set of Naval Officers issued in the 1910 range. The cards were one of two sets issued by Lauer & Suter, the other being the E6 Rulers set. The cards picture Naval officers most known for commanding ships in the Spanish American War as part of the White Squadron. The cards can be found with Lauer & Suter advertising on the back of the card at the bottom or they can be found with no advertising on the back--only a checklist of the subjects. It is not known if the cards with no advertising also came in Lauer & Suter products or if they were issued by another company. The cards without advertising seem to be a little scarcer than the ones with advertising but typically don't command a significant premium for that scarcity. The cards, like most of the caramel issues of the same timeframe, often suffer condition issues and are typically not found in high grade.

This complete set of E2 Lauer and Suter Navy Officers is in Good to EX with the vast majority of cards in the VG/VGEX range. Two cards (Rear Admiral J. E. Craig and Admiral Charles R. Sperry) have the "B" and Jeff B. stamps on the back which are widely believed to be from the collection of Jefferson Burdick--the father of insert card collecting and author of the American Card Catalog.
