The 1948 Topps Magic set is a unique and innovative collection known for introducing a novel element of interactivity to trading cards. This set consists of 252 cards, each featuring a subject from a group of subjects--both sports and nonsports. The "Magic" element was that the card stock was a photo develping paper that needed water to 'develop' the image in the sun.. This interactive feature made the set particularly appealing to young collectors and marked an early example of Topps' creative approach to engaging audiences. The 1948 Topps Magic set is significant for its pioneering role in the evolution of sports cards, blending entertainment with the traditional trading card format. The baseball subset in the series, subset "K" features 20 subjects. The cards are often found underdeveloped so to find cards with clean, crisp images is unusual.
This complete set of 1948 Topps "Magic" Wrestling cards represents all (25) "D" series cards. The cards are all in EX to NRMT condition with better photo clarity and better developed than the average cards in the 1948 Topps "Magic" set.
