The N48 set of cards feature what is believed to be the ladies that worked at the Allen & Ginter factory dressed up as female baseball players. The cards feature Virginia Brights Advertising in what is believed to be this very early 1886 set. There are different formats in the Virginia Brights advertising. Type 1 has a block printed Virginia Brights at the bottom of the front of the card. Type 2 cards have the Virginia Brights advertising in the field of the photo with 2A having only the advertising and 2B having the advertising as well as a position. Type 2C features the lesser available Dixie Cigarettes brand advertising. The cards are not plentiful and have become much more popular.
This single N48, Type 2B Allen & Ginter Girl baseball player is the Short Stop subject that has been graded PSA Authentic. The card is blank-backed.
