This fantastic Mail Pouch Tobacco tin lithographed outdoor thermometer is a beautiful piece of advertising--likely from the 1930's to 1950's. It measures a gaudy 8" wide x 39" tall. Whether used for its original intention for outdoors or in a great den display, this piece would look great. Mail Pouch is a brand that was part of the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company and their most well-known brand. Bloch Brothers began producing cigars in 1879 and realized that the leftover scrap pieces of tobacco could be gathered and put in a pouch to be sold as chewing tobacco. From that discovery, their brand for Mail Pouch was born. Mail Pouch advertised on barns throughout the Midwest and is still being produced today by the Swisher Group.
This piece is in beautiful condition and pictures the pail pouch packaging with their tagline "Treat yourself to the best".
