The F277-4 series of Heinz Aviators is a wonderful set of famous aviators of the 1950’s. The set includes possibly the most famous aviator, Charles Lindbergh as the #1 card. Other famous aviators include WWI flying ace “Eddie” Rickenbacker, “Jimmie” Dolittle and three different cards of female aviators—Louise Thaden, Ruth Nichols and Phoebe Omlie. At some point, five cards were pulled from production, creating five scarce variations in the set. Amelia Earhart #2, Laura Ingalls #5, Howard Hughes #7, Edwin Musick #8 and Frank Hawks #9 are all very difficult to locate and sell for significant premiums to the regular cards in the set.
This near set of (23/25) cards have all been graded by PSA and includes the following subjects: #1 Lindbergh (PSA2.5 Good+), #2 Schroeder (PSA2 Good), #3 Rickenbacker (PSA6 EX-MT), #4 Turner (PSA6.5 EX-MT+), #6 Tomlinson (PSA4 VG-EX), #7 Depew (PSA4 VG-EX), #8 Vaughn (PSA4 VG-EX), #9 de Seversky (PSA2 Good), #10 Thaden (PSA5 EX), #11 Chamberlain (PSA5 EX), #12 Jones (PSA4 VG-EX), #13 Doolittle (PSA7 NM), #14 Williams (PSA4 VG-EX), #15 Nichols (PSA5 EX), #16 Pangborn (PSA5 EX), #17 Merrill (PSA7 NM), #18 Sergievsky (PSA6 EX-MT), #19 Frye (PSA4 VG-EX), #20 Omlie (PSA6 EX-MT), #21 Chester (PSA4 VG-EX), #22 Howard (PSA6 EX-MT), #23 Ray (PSA4 VG-EX) and #24 June (PSA7 NM). Missing cards #5 and #25 to be complete.
