In the 1860's to 1880's, REBUS puzzle trade cards were very popular as one way to advertise different products. REBUS cards are a puzzle in which words are represented by combinations of pictures and individual letters. There are a number of different groups of 6, 8, 10 and 12 trade cards that were used for multiple products during the late 19th century.
This pair of Durham Smoking Tobacco REBUS trand cards are in VGEX condition and clean.
