The main, large tobacco companies like Allen & Ginter, Kinney, Kimball and Duke were all prolific advertisers--working to capture market share in a very competitive tobacco and cigarette market.
This fantastic die cut advertisement for Kinney Sweet Caporal pictures a woman holding a package of Sweet Caporal cigarettes on the front. The back has blue printing that says 'please shut the door'. It is obvious that this advertising was meant to be placed at the entrance to a tobacconist or five and dime store where tobacco packages were sold.
This piece measures 5-1/8" wide at the widest spot by 13-1/2" tall and is in VGEX to EX condition. The very bottom of the piece features the pinkie of the pictured woman and is intact. Just a fantastic piece that is remarkable that it stayed this condition for 120-130 years.
