N446 D.E. Rose Imperial Cards Lot of (4) Cards

The N446 D.E. Rose Imperial Cards are Fantastic, larger format card from the D. E. Rose company of New York, manufacturers of Cigars, Cigarettes and Cheroots. Likely included in a box of cigars or as a point-of-sale promotion, these larger format cards feature fantastic artwork and are sized 4-3/4" by 5-1/2". There are three types within the N446 classification--Type 1 cards are color images of paintings and actresses and number ten subjects. The Type 2 cards have a red border and feature sepia-toned actresses and total 18 subjects. The final Type 3 cards have gold borders and sepia-toned actresses inset and total 13 subjects.

This lot includes a single Type 1 card "The Storm Scene From Opera of D'Arville" in Poor shape with obvious condition flaws. In addition, the lot includes (3) N446 Type 2 cards with red borders including the subjects: Sadie Martinot, Lillian Russell and Helen Standish. The Type 3 cards are in GVG to VG condition.
