The N231 Kinney Tobacco Great American Trotters set pictures (25) of the best trotting horses from the late 19th century. Unlike thorobred horses, trotters typically have the rider in a small cart pulled behind called a sulky. Kinney issued (3) sets of horses during this period including the N229 American Horses, N230 English horses and this set. In addition to the small format cards, they also issued larger format, frameable 8x10 or 10x12 sized prints which are also highly collectible.
This complete set of N231 Kinney Tobacco Great American Trotters are largely in GVG to VGEX condition, averaging around VG to VG+. There are two cards with light back damage and a couple cards with more than average amount of soiling on the front or back. Overall, with a couple upgrades, this set could be a very nice set.
