The N11 Allen & Ginter State Flags set is a 47 card set of states and territories of the United States in the late 1880's. The 47 cards are comprised of 38 states that had received statehood and 9 territories that later became states. The territories include the Dakota territory, which, in 1889, was split into North and South Dakota and on November 2 of 1889 became the 39th and 40th states. So the N11 set was issued sometime in 1888 to mid-1889. The card fronts are colorful representations of the state flag and vignettes of things the states are known for. The card backs contain a checklist and can be found in one of two varieties--one with Richmond Straight Cut No. 1 "Cigarettes" Are the Best and another where the "Cigarettes" is missing. There are subtle front coloring differences between the two different back varieties.

This lot is for a single PSA2 Good graded copy of the Kentucky subject from the N11 Allen & Ginter Flags of the States set. The back is the no "Cigarettes" version on the top tagline. Back and front of the card are clean with just corner wear and a crease in the lower left.
