The N312 Series is a series of (15) cards picturing "Winged Birds of Plumage". The card fronts feature women from the waist up with bird feathers added set against a light brown background. The series were a stock photo card series that were used by a number of tobacco companies for advertising including William G. Hills "Orphan Boy" brand, Allen & Ginter (strips of three cards), Frishmuth and Mayo Cut Plug, among others. The Hills cards are most common as are the Mayo's but all of the cards are difficult to find and some are nearly impossible.
This card is for a single N312A Mayo I.C. Cut Plug Winged Birds of Plumage. The Mayo Cut Plug brand with the square blue advertising on the front is the easier type of N312 to find. The I.C. Cut Plug is a much more difficult variation. This card is in about VG condition with just a few stray pencil marks on the back.
