The T85 Set was issued with a number of different backs and in subsets that create an interesting collecting opportunity. In addition, the same subjects were used in Tobacco Products in Canada as well as on strip cards in the U.S. as well. To collect all three types for all the different series combinations and permutations is a daunting challenge. The cards are diminutive black and white cards picturing movie stars from the 1920's and 1930's, are numbered on the front in the lower left and have advertising for Strollers cigarettes on the back from the Tobacco Products Corporation of New York City.
This interesting lot is for a strollers 'header' card that would have likely been placed in a box of the stroller's cigarettes packages to help entice consumers to buy the brand. It notes 15 cigarettes for a dime and that the packages contain pictures of movie stars--one in each package. The pictured actor is Cullen Landis and the overall piece is in EX condition. The header card measures about 4" x 6". Great tangent piece of card collecting to go with a T85 Strollers set.
