The T53 Hassan Cigarettes Cowboys set is a great set picturing scenes of the Wild Western U.S. and the cowboys who were famous for inhabiting it. The artworks very nice on these with clean, bright coloring. A rope border outlines the borders of the card. It is believed that a 50th card--available in a couple other versions of the series--titled "An Exciting Game" was pulled from production of the cigarette issue due to the nature of the cowboy using a gun during a card game. While there is no conclusive evidence of this, it is about the only possible explanation given the inclusion of the card subject in the other similar sets of these cards.

This lot is for a single T53 Hassan Cigarettes Cowboys of subject "Heading a Stampede". The card is in fair condition but has the stamps on the back of Jefferson Burdick--the father of the American Card Catalog. Burdick would routinely stamp the back of his cards and they can often be found in lots or online.
