The T51 Murad Cigarettes College Series is a set of (150) cards issued in (25) card series picturing colleges throughout the U.S. The cards can feature sports figures playing baseball, basketball, golf, football, hockey, rowing, running, fishing, hunting and many more. In addition, some of the cards do not picture a specific sport but rather just a pennant and name of the college. The first and second series of (25) can be found with a first and second series. The second series is noted as such on both the front and back and the first series does not have such a notation. The set is very popular with set collectors and with type collectors or with alumni of certain colleges within the set.
All card fronts and a page of sample backs have been scanned in high resolution for inspection. The cards in this set range from poor to near EX. Due to the paper stock, these cards are rarely found in very high grade, so a VGEX to EX cards are typically among the best conditioned cards. This grouping is pretty evenly split between VGEX, VG and lesser cards. Some of the VGEX cards are very clean but not quite EX.
There are no first edition cards with numbers on the front.
