The T302 Zubelda Cigarettes Miniature "Painting on Tin" are interesting novelties that were inserted into Zubelda Cigarettes packages. The tin paintings measure 1-3/4" by 2-1/2". The tins were made in Germany and are generally found with a little stamp adhered to the back noting such. The tins were placed in a small paper envelope with the Zubelda notation on the front. The front also notes "Imported Miniature Herein" and that the premiums were from Factory #7, Fifth District in New Jersey. The can also be found in Murad envelopes as well. There have been 31 different images noted by photo checklist at non-sport.com.
This is the largest lot of T304/PX108 Zubelda Cigarettes Miniature Paintings on Convex Tin that has ever been offered at auction. The (31) here comprise over 60% of the cataloged copies from non-sport.com. The tins are in VGEX to EX condition primarily with clean fronts and blank tin backs. The envelopes and inner wrappers included in the lot are also very clean. Just a great lot of this oddball issue from the mid 1910's.
