The Allen & Ginter Civil War General and Indians Silk set is an obscure set of silks that may have been issued in England around the turn of the 20th century, give or take 10 years. Little is known about the silks other than they rarely show up. They measure 7-1/8" H x 10-3/8" W and have the named figure's image to the left of the silk in a vertical orientation and an advertisement for Richmond Straight Cut Cigarettes to the left in a horizontal orientation. It is thought that the silks could have been 'box toppers' or case toppers for A&G Products. Some (10) Civil War figures and (7) Indians have been checklisted in the set which could, conceivably, contain (10) of each or more.
This silk pictures Native American subject "Crow Chief" and is in VGEX to EX condition with no major condition issues. Just a beautiful and incredibly scarce silk.
