The R89 Gum Inc Mickey Mouse set is a 96 card set of one of the most popular comic characters of all time. Mickey Mouse's popularity exploded in the early 1930's and Gum, Inc of Philadelphia, PA sought to capitalize on that with their set. The set was issued in two different series of 48 cards with each having a companion album. More often than not, the cards found themselves glued into the albums so finding high grade cards is difficult.
This complete set of R89 Gum Inc Mickey Mouse cards runs the gamut in condition. There are (23) cards with some level of light to moderate back damage. Card #13 and #20 are the O-Pee-Chee versions of the Gum Inc Cards. Outside those issues, the cards typically vary between Good and EX with most cards being GVG to VG. The fronts exhibit nice coloring and, with some upgrades, this could be a nice set. There are (5) cards that are PSA Graded including the following numbers: #21 (PSA1.5), #61 (PSA2), #73 (PSA1), #89 (PSA2) and #91 (PSA1). The wrapper for the set is in EX condition and very clean.
