The Pulver Gum company of Rochester, NY issued an interesting set in 1935 called Pulver pictures. The tagline on the back of "the greatest assortment of picture cards ever compiled" might have been a little braggadocios but it was an interesting choice of subjects for 1930's children's gum cards. The cards picture war and battle and generally focus on the weapons that were used in these battles. In the gun department, there are cards for hand guns, machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, Gatling guns and an ancient french mortar. There's even a card for short barrel gun on camel (#110). In the older weapon category, cards for the blunderbuss, antique cross bows, boomerang, trebouchet and broad swords exist. The cards have colorful fronts picturing soldiers, policemen and other combatants using the weapons described on the backs. The cards are numbered 100-129.
This complete set of (30) cards from the R108 Pulver Pictures Weapons set have all been PSA graded and include the following subjects: #100 (PSA4 VGEX), #101 (PSA6 EXMT), #102 (PSA5 EX), #103 (PSA2.5 Good+), #104 (PSA4 VGEX), #105 (PSA7 NM), #106 (PSA5 EX), #107 (PSA4 VGEX), #108 (PSA6 EXMT), #109 (PSA6 EXMT), #110 (PSA5 EX), #111 (PSA6 EXMT), #112 (PSA6 EXMT), #113 (PSA3 VG), #114 (PSA4 VGEX (MK)), #115 (PSA4 VGEX), #116 (PSA6 EXMT), #117 (PSA5 EX), #118 (PSA5 EX), #119 (PSA6 EXMT), #120 (PSA3 VG), #121 (PSA5 EX), #122 (PSA4 VGEX), #123 (PSA5 EX), #124 (PSA5 EX), #125 (PSA2 Good), #126 (PSA4 VGEX), #127 (PSA5 EX), #128 (PSA5 EX) and #129 (PSA5 EX).
