The N9 Allen & Ginter Flags - Series 1 set is a variation collector's dream. The set pictures 50 different named subjects but has variations on both the front and the back that allow for the set to be collected in a number of different ways. There are eight cards that can be found with a fancy variation--some of which are difficult and some that are prohibitively difficult. The backs can be found with block script, curved script and "right bower" brand backs. The fronts can also be found with "Virginia Brights" tagline advertising as well as both Ginter and Ginter's noted on the front. All told, there are currently believed to be approximately 291 different variations.
This lot contains four cards from the N9 Allen & Ginter Flags of Nations first series--all of which have been graded by PSA and includes the following subjects: Chili PSA5 EX, France PSA6 EXMT (4 in grade, 2 higher), Italy PSA6 EXMT(4 in grade, 1 higher) and Spain PSA6 EXMT (6 in grade, 4 better). Three of the four cards are the curved title backed cards with the fourth--Italy--being the "Virginia Brights" front with block straight title back.
