The N3 Allen & Ginter set is 50 cards picturing weapons that date back from the beginning of time until the 1880's. It is an interesting subject matter being used to sell cigarettes in the 1880's. The lithography and artwork is top notch as it is on all the Allen & Ginter sets. The backs of the cards are printed in a red color, possibly intended to represent blood. It is the only Allen & Ginter set of the mainstream 44 chromolithographed sets that they issued that uses red ink for the back printing.
This group of 34 cards, which represents 2/3 of a complete set contains the following condition breakdown: (17) Cards ranging from VGEX to weak-EX, (5) Cards in VG condition and (12) cards in Fair to Poor condition with issues primarily to the back of the card including paper loss, paper adhered or some type of heavy staining.
