Inaugural January 2019 Auction

The N3 Allen & Ginter set is 50 cards picturing weapons that date back from the beginning of time until the 1880's. It is an interesting subject matter being used to sell cigarettes in the 1880's. The lithography and artwork is top notch as it is on all the Allen & Ginter sets. The backs of the cards are printed in a red color, possibly intended to represent blood. It is the only Allen & Ginter set of the mainstream 44 chromolithographed sets that they issued that uses red ink for the back printing.
This set is a lower condition set with the majority of the cards having some pencil writing on the backs and various condition issues. Without regards to the back writing, the cards display in the G to VG range with some worse and some better. Overall a consistent set to fill a hole until a stronger set comes along.
