Kinney Tobacco issued three different horse sets in a small format in the late 1880's to early 1890's. The N229 set were American horses, the N230 were English horses and the N231 set represented Great Trotting horses. The N230 cards as contained in this lot pictured English horses known for winning the bigger races in Europe--especially the English Derby.
This complete set of (25) N230 Kinney Tobacco English Racing horses is a lower condition set that has very clean fronts with many having back issues. Falling between Poor and VG, the average cards in the set are about GVG.
