The N377 Ellis Tobacco Recruit Cigarettes Civil War Generals pictures generals from both the Confederacy and the Union sides in colorful lithography for the late 1880's. The 25 card set are tougher than many of the mainstream issues but set completion is possible with patience and dollars. The set contains Lee and Grant as well as many of the other more well-known generals of the Civil War.
This lot offers a group of (10) cards from the N377 H.Ellis tobacco company Recruit Cigarette Generals of the Civil War set. Two of the cards have been graded by PSA. Those subjects include Ben Hill (PSA2 Good) and Irvin McDowell (PSA1 Poor). The ungraded cards include the following subjects: Beauregard, Booker, Grant, Halleck, Hooker, Lee, Patrick and Sheridan. The ungraded cards are in Poor to Fair condition but do offer the opportunity to pick up the two key cards in the set--Grant and Lee. Most of the ungraded group have some level of back damage although the fronts on all the cards in the lot are still mostly colorful and clean.
