R96 Gum, Inc. and Dietz "Motion Picture Stars" Lot of (4) Different

The R96 classification has two varieties of cards made by two different companies. The R96-1 cards were issued by Gum Inc and measure 5" by 7". The cards can be found numbered 1-25 (type A) or unnumbered (type B). The R96-2 were issued by Dietz Gum and number 26 subjects imaged at non-sport.com. The cards are black and white with the R96-1 being on white card stock and the R96-2 being on white and colored stock.

This lot of (4) cards is a great lot for a type card collector. There are a pair of R96-1 Gum Inc cards from the Type B or Unnumbered series including Iris Meredith and Cecilia Parker. The Iris Meredith card has an advertisement for the 300 card series printed on the back. Both R96-1 cards are in VG to VGEX condition and mostly clean. The other two cards are a pair of R96-2 cards from Dietz including Anita Page (yellow stock) and Douglass Fairbanks Jr (white stock). The Dietz cards are in VG condition with just moderate corner wear. Great lot of oversized 1930's "R" cards.
