The N298 Mayo Cut Plug Actresses set is one of a number of sets that Mayo issued during the late 1880's to early 1890's. The set is one of (3) sets that Mayo crafted thathad deep black borders--N298 Actresses, N300 Baseball and N302 Football. Unlike the Baseball and Football sets, the N298 set has a white back that has blue printed advertising for Mayo Cut Plug tobacco. Unlike the N295 Mayo Actresses, the N298 Actresses are not named on the cards. The set is also a (25) card set and, with the black borders, are rarely found in high grade.
This lot contains a pair of N298 Mayo Cut Plug Actresses in better than average condition around VG to VGEX. The backs are clean and the black front borders are in decent condition.
