Auction #4 - January 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/26/2020
The N126 Duke's Tobacco Rulers, Flags and Arms of Nations set is a (51) card set that pictures (50) rulers and their nations and a card for Niagara Falls. The (50) rulers cards can be found with center panel advertising for Duke's Cameo Cigarettes, Turkish Cross-Cut Cigarettes or Duke's Cigarettes and offer something extra for the variation collector to consider. The cards are folded into three panels that, when folded, measure the same size as the normal-sized tobacco cards of the 1880's. The cards are condition sensitive--particularly at the folds and corners and are much thinner than the normal 19th century tobacco card. There is another format of the cards that features thicker cards and advertises the Honest Long Cut brand on the back in a non-folding format.
This lot includes (12) N126 Duke Tobacco Ruler's, Coats of Arms and Flags that have been graded by PSA as VGEX-4. The triple folder cards are entombed in the oversized PSA holders and look fantastic unfolded in full view. All the examples in the lot are of the Turkish Cross Cut Cigarettes advertising format except for the Sandwich Islands example which is of the Duke's Cameo Cigarettes variety. The (12) examples in the lot are: Australia, Austria, Holland, Italy, Roman States (or the Vatican), Russia, Sandwich Islands, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States and United States of Columbia.
