The P3 pinback series is one of the many tobacco premiums issued in the early part of the 20th century. The P3 pinbacks are noted as Comic Pictures with Mutt & Jeff and similar characters and number in the hundreds of subjects. Some are more popular than others and will command a premium. Some of the pins have characters, like Mutt & Jeff, are stylized somewhat racist photos of black characters that are over exaggerated. There are a few pins that have baseball as the subject which always causes them to be worth more.
This lot of (30) pinbacks are largely in about EX condition. The pinback "who said chicken" pictures one of the stylized racist photos of an African American. The pin is in lower condition with some staining. There is also a baseball subject entitled "shoot kid I gotcha". Great lot of these pins in mostly very clean condition.
