Auction #3 - October 2019

The 1952 Topps Wings set of (200) Cards was one of the many visionary sets that Topps issued in 1952. They quickly cemented their place as the main card issuer with sets like Wings. The set pictures airplanes from all of the main manufacturers in the 1930's and 1940's like Douglass and Boeing, Vaught and Sikorsky and others. The large format cards lent themselves to beautiful painted pictures of the many airplanes in the set.
The condition breakdown card-by-card is outlined in the table below. On an aggregated level, the breakdown is SGC80(11 cards), SGC84(57 cards), SGC86(38 cards), SGC88(3 cards) and SGC92(1 card). Of particular interest, card #1 is a condition rarity. Of 61 cards graded by both PSA and SGC, there are only (3)8's and (2)7's. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain over half a registry-worthy set of 1952 Topps Wings. Six of the higher graded cards have been scanned as a representation of the lot.
