The 1949 Bowman Wild West Set is an (180) card set. The cards are small format like all the 1949 Bowman cards and are broken down into (8) different subsets each having its own numbering scheme beginning with a letter from A to H and a number. The series include Winning the West #A-1 to A-40, Indian Customs #B-1 to B-20, Famous Characters #C-1 to C-20, Indian Warfare #D-1 to D-20, Cowboy Life #E-1 to E-20, Law and Order #F-1 to F-20, River Days #G-1 to G-20 and Western Stars #H-1 to H-20.
This lot contains original pencil artwork for card G-5 "Villain's Cave" from the R701-19 Bowman Wild West set. The artwork also has the original typewritten narrative that was added to the back of the card. The piece is in EX condition or better and includes a completed, issued card for comparison purposes. Beautiful piece of cardboard history from Bowman.
