Runkel's Cocoa was one of the more prolific cocoa companies in the early part of the 20th century. To advertise their products, the produced a number of dozens of trade cards--individually and in series. Their phenomenal style of artwork on their cards is generally in a duotone type artwork with various shades of a single pastel color and various shades of black.
This lot is for a trio of Runkel trade cards. The first example is an orange-hued card picturing what appears to be a World War I scene of caissons and cannons being pulled on horseback. The second example is from a six card series and pictures a couple dancing and is from the 'Hesitation Waltz Series'. This is card #2 from that series. The final card is a full color card picturing a cherub pouring cocoa into a cup and saucer for a woman in a yellow dress. All (3) cards are in VG to VGEX condition with clean fronts and backs and just basically general corner wear.
