Alfred Campbell of Elizabeth, NJ is widely credited with being the primary photographer of the images that were used on the N566 and N567 Newsboy cabinets of the 1895 period. At least most of the red printed mount Newsboys. The green printed mounts are, in most cases, from photos taken by Falk studios in NYC and attributed as such. Campbell was a prolific photographer of the late 1870's into the 1890's. He was well known for his stereoscope images and for his CDV and cabinet photos and was one of a number of photographers in or near NYC in that period who also specialized in photographing Broadway stars. Campbell's work for Newsboy was largely unattributed but surmised from discovering simlar posed cabinets to the Newsboy cabinets of the day.

This lot contains a group of (10) actress cabinet cards on Alfred Campbell mounts. The actresses in the lot include Urbanska, Fannie Ward, Olive Berkley, Beatrice Cameron, Rhea (2 different), Pauline Hall, Sylvia Gerrish, Margarette Reid and Alice Evans . All mounts are clean with clean backs and in about EX condition. The Olive Berkley is a particularly nice cabinet picturing Berkley holding a pair of flags.
