The R142 Goudey Soldier Boys cards were issued in 1933 like many of the other Goudey Issues. As one of the smaller Goudey sets, it is a relatively easy set to complete. The set pictures soldiers in uniform from 24 different countries including Japan, Russia, the US and others. The U.S. cards in the set include an Admiral and the U.S. Marines. The set is colorful and the wrapper is a beautiful representation of a popular subject in the 1930's--War.
This wrapper is in VGEX to EX condition with the only issues being the normal folds found on 1930's gum wrappers. The red, white and blue color scheme seems to be the most popular of the timeframe. The wrapper pictures a soldier with a French flag in the background. The side panels have offers for the cloth flags that were a redemption offer for the set from the Goudey company. The top and bottom of the wrapper picture 8 flags from various countries.
