The N566 Newsboy series pictures Actresses and numbers into the hundreds of cards. The Newsboy cabinets were likely point-of-sale giveaways for buying the Newsboy brand of tobacco. The cabinets are standard 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" cabinets and have an albumen photo adhered to a red-inked mount advertising Newsboy of New York at the bottom front of the cabinet. Cabinets are blank-backed and often numbered on either the cabinet front or within the photo field itself and, occasionally both places. Many actresses have multiple poses or can be found with different mounts and the set offers the variation collector some real opportunities.

This lot includes (16) Newsboy cabinet cards of actresses in VG to EXMT condition and overall very clean. The subjects include Marie Wainwright, Ada Rehan, Caroline Miskel, Isabel Irving, Sadie Martinot, Jennie Goldthwaite, Louise Grans, Maude Waltermere, Virginia Harned, Miss Cayvan, Cissy Fitzgerald, Zelma Rawston, Paula Edwardes, Katherine Florence, May Robson and Rhea. Couple of the cabinets have some damage to the mount. All cabinets have been scanned.
