The N229 Kinney American Horses is a (25) card set that can be found in two different formats--one with a checklist back outlining both the American (N229) and English (N230) set or with a text-backed redemption offer. The sets are normal sized tobacco cards and feature Horses that are known for winning American horse races. The checklist backs are much tougher to obtain than are the redemption backs.
This single N229 Kinney Cigarettes Famous American Horses features the subject Montrose that has been graded PSA4 VG-EX. Montrose was the winner of the 1887 Kentucky Derby helping to date this set as sometime in later 1887 or early 1888.
