The N9 Allen & Ginter Flags - Series 1 set is a variation collector's dream. The set pictures 50 different named subjects but has variations on both the front and the back that allow for the set to be collected in a number of different ways. There are eight cards that can be found with a fancy variation--some of which are difficult and some that are prohibitively difficult. The backs can be found with block script, curved script and "right bower" brand backs. The fronts can also be found with "Virginia Brights" tagline advertising as well as both Ginter and Ginter's noted on the front. All told, there are currently believed to be approximately 291 different variations.

The Belgium Fancy variation card is arguably the toughest Fancy variation in the N9 Allen & Ginter Flags of All Nations set. The always popular card is the only mainstream tobacco card from the 19th century that actually pictures a pack of tobacco with the Allen & Ginter advertising on the card.

This N9 Allen & Ginter Flags of All Nations Belgium Fancy card is in technically Fair condition with pronounced creases in the upper right and lower left corners and a name stamped in purple ink on the back. The card does, however, present pretty nicely from the front and is so very difficult to find in any condition. The last N9 Belgium Fancy we offered a few months back brought over $1200. While this one is in lesser condition, it is only the second we have ever offered.
