The R39 Dare Devils set is a (24) card set from National Chicle picturing people in compromising situations making Dare Devil decisions. Each card pictures some harrowing event from some situation--many of which are known to many people. The cards would have captured the intrigue of the small child in 1935--the date of issue. They were issued alongside National Chicles other issues of the mid 1930's including the Diamond Stars baseball series and the National Chicle football series. The cards are very popular with collectors.
This lot of (9) cards from the R39 National Chicle Dare Devils set are all graded by PSA and include the following subjects: #7 (PSA1.5 Fair), #9 (PSA1.5 Fair), #10 (PSA1 Poor), #11 (PSA2 Good), #13 (PSA2.5 Good+), #14 (PSA1.5 Fair), #15 (PSA3 VG), #22 (PSA4 VG-EX) and #24 (PSA4 VG-EX). Although a number of cards in this low are lower graded, they all display as VGEX type cards and it's difficult on some of them to even discern the reason for the low grades. They've all been scanned in 400DPI for close viewing.
