The N49 Allen & Ginter Cyclists card set pictures women on high wheel bicycles of the day from the late 1880's to early 1890's. The cards are albumen photo cards attached to a thick cardboard stock which was very common for the day. The cards are typically numbered somewhere in the field of the photo and numbers as high as 66 have been seen. The vintagenonsports.com gallery pictures some 40 cards and Non-sport.com pictures a dozen cards from the set. The cards are the standard size running 1-7/16" by 2-5/8".
This pair of cards from the N49 Allen & Ginter Girl Cyclists set are in clean VG to VGEX condition with subjects #12 and #21 in the lot. The cards have better than average photo clarity and would make a great addition to any 19th century tobacco card collection.
