The 1930's is one of the most popular eras in nonsport collecting. The Goudey Gum company is the undisputed heavyweight producer of the Gum cards of the 1930's. From baseball to nonsports, Sport Kings to others, they were prolific from the early 1930's through the mid-to-late 1940's. The R142 Solder Boys were issued in 1933 and pictured different soldiers from different countries in a (24) card set. The cards were issued one to a one cent pack with a piece of gum and 100 packs were in the box. This red, white and blue box has phenomenal graphics and would have been a big draw for the boys and girls of the early 1930's.

The box is in about G to VG condition and is mostly clean with some wear to the top flap and a very small piece missing at the top of the foldable piece of the lid. Interestingly, inside the box is a white box the exact size that appears to have been glued into the box. We have not tried to remove it but it appears it could have been made that way as a possible display piece. Overall a beautiful relic from a bygone era.
