The N45 Dixie Cigarettes were a group of albumen photo actress cards that were issued by Allen & Ginter in their Dixie cigarettes products in the late 1880's to early 1890's. According to the World Tobacco Index (WTI), there are at least 12 different 'types' of the cards--some of which have three or four subtypes. The cards picture actresses, some of which are named with others unnamed. The fronts of the cards and the advertising types on the front are how the cards are classified into different sets and subsets. The Dixie brand, as a whole, is more difficult to find than the more ubiquitous Virginia Brights brand--the flagship of Allen & Ginters 19th century empire.
This lot of (10) cards from the N45 Allen & Ginter Virginia Brights Actress are largely in Fair to VG condition with clean, clear photos but some back issues on most cards.
