The N49 Allen & Ginter Cyclists card set pictures women on high wheel bicycles of the day from the late 1880's to early 1890's. The cards are albumen photo cards attached to a thick cardboard stock which was very common for the day. The cards are typically numbered somewhere in the field of the photo and numbers as high as 66 have been seen. The vintagenonsports.com gallery pictures some 40 cards and Non-sport.com pictures a dozen cards from the set. The cards are the standard size running 1-7/16" by 2-5/8".
This single N49 Allen & Ginter Virginia Brights "Girl Cyclists" #54 is in about VG condition with just a little wear and chipping on the top border and a little non-obtrusive wrinkle on the bottom border.
