Auction #15 - October 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/29/2023
American Caramel was the undisputed heavyweight of Caramel cards created in the first quarter of the 20th century. Their sets were detailed and, in some cases colorful, representations of the subjects they portrayed. The nonsports sets are typically 20-25 cards in length such as this E49 Wild West Set. The set pictures Scouts and Indian subjects of the Wild West--a popular subject for cards in the early 20th century. Famous scouts in this set include Kit Carson, Pawnee Bill, Davy Crockett, Buffalo Bill and General George Custer. Famous Indians include Always Riding, Black Bear, Sitting Bull and others.
This lot of (13) cards from the E49 American Caramel Wild West Caramels runs the gamut in condition from poor to VGEX. Most cards are GVG to VG. The lot includes many of larger luminaries like Custer and Sitting Bull. There is some very light duplication in the lot.
