The E46 Indians set is a set of (25) cards issued by the Philadelphia Caramel Company. This set is one of many sets issued by Philadelphia Caramel in the early candy and gum cards section. The set pictures Indian subjects, all of which are found in the Allen & Ginter N2 and N36 Indian sets. The same images are used for the BAT Indians set of the 1930’s from the UK as well as others.

The cards are numbered in the checklist on the back of the card and the checklist is in numerical order. Always a popular subject matter, Indian cards are widely collected. There were at least two different printings of the series—a small one and a large one. The easiest way to distinguish between the two printings is not only the size but the back of the card between the logo at the top and the checklist at the bottom will have a single line (smaller version) or a double line (larger version). While no exhaustive study has been performed on the set, it appears that there is an equal amount of each version and no real premium associated with either version of the cards.

This is a near set of (22/25) of the "two lines" E46 Indians. These cards are about 1/8" taller than the set in the previous lot. The cards uniformly fall between VG and EX and average about VGEX with a couple better and a couple worse. The three cards missing are Crow's Breast, Lean Wolf and Man and Chief.
