Fantastic 5.5" by 7.5" cabinet card picturing Fay Templeton from Duke Cigarettes. This cabinet card advertises Duke's Turkish Cross-Cut Cigarettes product. The mount is a dark gray to black and identifies W. Duke & Sons of Durham NC and New York as the 'largest cigarette manufacturers in the world'. It also notes that Duke's average daily sales was over two million cigarettes at the time. Fay Templeton was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on Christmas Day of 1865. She died in 1939 and likely would have been in her mid to late 20's when this photo was taken. The cabinet is in overall VGEX to EX condition with just some wear to the corners and much of the red border coloring in nice shape. The black mount has printing done in a bronze type gilt that is very nice for the time frame. The back is mostly clean with what appears to be about a 1/2" round spot where an apparent price sticker was removed.
