H.J. Heinz Company produced the Aviator and Aviation set during the mid 1930's to capitalize on a popular subject. They also sought to help educate children either out of a sense of responsibility or probably also figured that kids would look at these beautiful posters and pester their parents for the cereal that contained the cards. The posters were sent to schools and had a poster and a booklet explaining the use of the poster. We sold a booklet in the last auction for $1300+. The Posters are infinitely scare and very difficult to find in top condition. Posters in various states of disrepair exist but to find a complete poster as clean as this one is is a rare occurence.

The poster has a central image of a map of the world and the top 1/2 of the image is ringed by (24) famous aviators while the bottom half is ringed by (25) famous airplanes. The map of the world has (7) small vignettes of famous airships and notes their remarkable accomplishments. The poster is printed on normal poster type paper.

This particular copy of the poster has some obvious faults but the top and bottom metal wire hangars are in good shape and the poster is complete. Both sides of the poster exhibit some condition issues as shown in the photo. This poster is one of the key issues of any type of Food product collecting and is one of only a handful of posters that still exist. The poster still displays nicely and would look great framed.
