The H771-1 Clark's Thread "John Martin's Spool Pets" is one of (3) different "Spool" Trade Card sets issued by Clark's threads. The H771-1 "John Martin's Spool Pets" set appears to have been issued with two printings in 1930 (Box 248 or Box 551) and once each in 1931 and 1932. The cards measure 4-1/4" Wide by 5-1/8" High and are colorful. Each card has the front and back of an animal character printed on it along with a poem. The animal was intended to be cut out and you were to use the empty thread spool as the body. The cards appear to have been given away at the stores where you bought thread or you could send off for a complete set in the mail for 5 cents (originally 4 cents in stamps).

This lot is for a clean mailing envelope for the H771 J&P Coats Spool Toy Circus set. The envelope is in VGEX condition.
