The E291 Jiggies set is a 6 ‘card’ set issued by the Mayfair Candy Company of Brooklyn, New York. The cards, actually puzzles, are extremely hard to find. Mayfair issued a number of cards including one of the earliest all-football sets known. The Jiggies are 6-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches with a strip at the top and a strip at the bottom. The puzzle center of the card is meant to be trimmed out and punched out as a puzzle patter is pre-punched into them. The scarcity can likely be explained with the design of the cards, as they were meant to be cut up and used as puzzles, very similar to the E. Rosen E250 card set which is similarly designed and similarly difficult to obtain. Similar to the E250 cards, the Jiggies had a sucker attached to them through the diecut holes located along the top of the card. The card has the tagline “Lick the pop, solve the puzzle”.
This lot is for a single E291 Mayfair Candies Jiggies card of the subject #1 Aladdin and His Lamp Type Card. The puzzle has separated at some of the joints but is complete.
