The E148 Cracker Jack Riddles set is one of about a dozen sets identified and assigned an ACC number by Jefferson Burdick. The set is a 20 card set outlining riddles that would have been considered funny in the 1910's to 1920's--when the cards were likely issued. It appears that this set was printed at least 3 different times as minor differences in the instructions listed at the bottom can be found. Unlike most card sets of the days the FRONT of this set is the same for all issues while the BACK of the set has the differences. The cards are numbered in the lower right hand corner from 1 to 20. While the cards were obviously included in boxes of Cracker Jacks, it is also believed that that the set was also issued in complete set form.
The cards in this lot of (13) vary in condition from G to VGEX with most around GVG condition. The card stock on this set is somewhat brittle so most condition issues are from corner chipping and other light surface issues. The card numbers contained in this lot are: 10, 11, 14, 15(2), 16(2), 17(2), 18, 19 and 20(2). This lot would be a good lot to pick up and, with some trading and a few pickups one could finish the set off pretty easily.
