The D280-1 Bond Bread blotter series is actually a pair of different series of (6) blotters--ones with full bleed setup and one with a small white border around the card. The blotters were likely issued inside loafs of bread or as a point of sale give away. The blotters are single color backgrounds with an aircraft pictured to the left of the Bond Bread logo which is featured prominently on the front of the card. The backs of the cards are a deep blue and meant to be used for fountain pen 'blotting' or cleaning clumps of ink that could build up on fountain pens in an era where writing was the main method of communication via print.
This lot of (6) cards includes (4) bordered subjects and (2) full bleed blotters. The (4) bordered subjects include: B24, P51, PB2Y-3 and SBD1. The (2) full bleed subjects include: B-26 and P-47. All (6) blotters are in the VG to EX range with most around VGEX. The backs of the blotters are unused and the majority of condition issues include honest surface and corner wear.
